A One-Man Comedy(?) Show

Fred Gratzon takes you on a whirlwind ride through tumultuous times in his life — getting into a fist fight, defying death on his 1947 Harley Davidson, getting arrested in Hermosa Beach, nearly drowning at the Wedge, and setting the World Record for the U.S. Army's shortest draft physical during the Vietnam War (two minutes).

You'll cringe as he hops a freight train across Canada, tries to streamline the welfare system in New Jersey, and gets mercilessly  tossed about as a clueless, ill-equipped entrepreneur when taking his company public.

How Fred survived any one of these episodes is a testament to dumb-ass luck. Plain and simple.

In 1968, Fred graduated from Rutgers University sine laude et cuticula dentium (that's Latin for without honor and by the skin of teeth). Fred has never held a job for more than two months and is one of those extremely rare individuals who has been fired from a civil service job.  His life has been described as a roller coaster. He says it's more like the Vomit Comet.

P.S. This book also includes the homemade version of his ice cream recipe that both People Magazine and Playboy declared to be "the best ice cream in America".
